JUST GOT THIS EMAIL FROM DEAN TONIGHT:
Dear Friends,
We are so deeply grateful for all of the love and support that we have been shown during this time of unspeakable sorrow in our lives. We are truly blessed to have such people standing with us. The Lord has been so merciful to us, and though my heart aches, I rejoice that He rescued Josiah from the ravages of his disease. My heart is now burdened with the things that Jason and Suzie must deal with. There are many expenses that will be placed upon them in the aftermath of this unimaginable tragedy. The financial realities of such things are cold and blunt, and offer no sympathy. Though this is the last thing on their mind at this time, it is something that I am trying to anticipate before it becomes a burden. We are hoping to get assistance on the medical bills that Jason’s insurance will not cover, but this will be a funeral that was not expected. The cost of the gravesite is $2000, and the expense of the funeral will be in the thousands. I am sending out a request on behalf of my son for help.I have done this for others in the past, but never imagined that I would write such a letter for my own family. If the Lord touches your heart about this, whatever assistance you could send will be deeply and eternally appreciated. Checks can be made out to South Valley Baptist Church and designated for Josiah, and we will be happy to give you a record of your giving. Everything that comes in will go toward funeral expenses.God bless you for what you mean to us. We so appreciate your prayers for us in these difficult days.
In His Dear Name,
Dean Herring
I DON'T HAVE INFORMATION RIGHT NOW AS TO WHEN HE DIED OR WHEN THE FUNERAL WILL BE. I WILL WANT TO GO, IF IT IS POSSIBLE. I'LL LET YOU KNOW. THESE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL BE BRUTAL FOR THAT FAMILY FROM ANY PERSPECTIVE. NOW WE KNOW HOW TO PRAY MORE CONCRETELY. LET'S BE FAITHFUL TO DO IT.
